- You strap the Ripxx to your leg or around your waist and get to it. As you move Ripxx is continually recording your position, acceleration, speed, orientation and altitude. Some statistics are shown on the built-in screen for immediate feedback, but where the Ripxx really shines is when you plug it into a computer. Once the full dataset is uploaded, you have access to a wide range of statistics and simulations that show exactly how and where you performed.

- No. Ripxx uses an OLED screen that is weather-resistant and contains no liquid to freeze.
- Below is the list of suggested placement based on sport:
Ski / Snowboard: We recommend that you wear it on your leg or around your waist, as this will give the internal gyroscope the best picture of your movements. Most people find that wearing it on their leg makes it easier to reach the Ripxx device to read the screen.
Motocross (MX/ATV): On the back of the chest plate with the top button facing the sky. This requires some industrial strength Velcro but placing it here gives the device a clear view of the sky so your data ends up being pretty much dead on.
Cycling: Strap the device to the top tube and the bottom tube with the included holster. The device's top button needs to be pointed towards the head tube.
Canoe/Kayak: For this you are going to need some duct tape and a Ziploc bag. Put the device in the bag and duct tape it face up to the deck of the front or back. The top button of the device should be pointing in the direction you are traveling.
Running: Around your upper arm with the top button pointed toward the sky.
